Sunday was a beautiful evening to take a new adventure. We picked Levi up and headed to Observatory Hill which is the highest point in Marquette County.
The hill is a close drive so we arrived pretty quickly and started on our way.
Levi carried a homemade pack on his back with my purse and our water bottles. He did well with it being his first time carring a load on his back.
I had to snap my usual start of the hike photo with the park sign.
We started upward and I was amazed at the amount of wild flowers that surrounded us.
I stopped to take a photo with Levi.
It was a sweet walk through this field of flowers until we reached the woods.
We started up the wooded trail which is very rutty and narrow.
It is a nice shady walk and we enjoyed the sights and sounds on the way up. Felix walked with Milo, our Boston/Rat Terrier mix. He lost his back leg after being hit by a car but he sure gets around well on those three legs.
Levi was very interested in the sights along the way.
At last we are at the top and what a view from up here.
More of Felix’s antics.
Here he is looking at Milo.
This hike was so worth the effort it took to climb this hill.
Felix wanted to stay a while but it was time to head back down before the sun really starts to go down.
We finally reached the bottom and were ready to head home.
On the way back we saw some deer and a beautiful sunset.
God Bless. Thanks for visiting and may you find joy in your journey.
