This Saturday, August 12th, there is a fun festival in Lodi. It’s called Susie the Duck Days. They have a parade and many other fun activities. The theme of this year’s Parade is The Circus Life.
I asked my friend Tricia to down load the entry form because I hadn’t gotten any where to do so, and tomorrow is the last day to get my entry in. Tricia laughed and said, “Joanne…flying under the radar again,” because my biggest problem is Procrastination. Ugh.
Candace picked up a tye dye kit today and tonight we worked together to customize a plain white dress I had found while working last week, along with a wig, and some huge Converse tennys that match the wig in color.
Candace spent the day decorating the shoes for me while I was at work.
She also is making “Kindness” bracelets with her daughter Iysis to give out to children at the parade.
After we twisted and tied the dress with lots of rubber bands we went out in the yard to apply the colors.
Iysis and Felix help mix the tye dye colors.
As Candace and I applied the colors to the dress, the kids colored their own shirts, that they rubber banded in their very own designs.
We filled the dress with lots of color.
Now to wait until tomorrow when Candace will wash the dress and we will get to see how it turns out.
The final result is in.
