A wonderful, unexpected adventure happened tonight. I was offered a beautiful photo opportunity from my new friend Emily. There is a couple who own a quaint farm just outside of Baraboo, that created a huge field of Sunflowers and made a maze in it.
I called the owners and explained my journey a little bit and they graciously agreed to let us come and take photos with Levi tonight. Emily and her friend Dezarae led the way, while Felix and I followed with Levi on board. I was so excited to take some photos of him with Sunflowers as I love those big happy flowers. Y
When we arrived, I was impressed at the pristine condition this farm is in..
You can see the Baraboo Water Tower from the property.
The huge Sunflower maze blesses you in it’s quiet picturesque setting.
You can tell there has been alot of thought and hard work put into the making of this farm.
There are so many interesting things to see, and it’s as clean as a whistle. I felt like Dorothy landing in the land of Oz. For real! The trail is very level and wide and covered in mulch, making for a nice level surface suitable for walkers or wheelchairs if needed.
This trail takes you past many unusual and beautiful garden statues and garden settings that are great areas for photo opportunities.
There is a peaceful little pond.
They have created a huge unique playground with tires and trees to crawl on or under and have three large tube slides as well as a sand filled mountain of tractor tires to climb or play in the sand. Huge bales of hay make a cool place to play. This place is a pure delight for kids (and donkeys) of all ages.
There is an area filled with adorable farm critters and gardens including a Peacock, miniature horses, goats, sheep, llamas, chickens, roosters, and more.
Levi liked the goat.
The goat did not like Levi.
Felix liked the goat very much.
Dezarae and Levi make a stunning pic.
Last leg of the trail to the Maze.
We reached the entrance to the maze.
Emily took some outstanding fun photos of Dezarae and the Sunflowers. It’s much easier to get a human to pose for a picture. Beautiful job girls.
This farm is truly a delightful place and I HIGHLY recommend a trip to visit this little slice of Heaven on Earth.
Levi got to see many new things. His curiosity enabled Emily and I to take some pretty sweet photos. There were times he made us laugh with his crazy donkey antics…such as taking a bite out of a huge Sunflower leaf. My beautiful little guy. Oh how I love my silly, little, traveling buddy.
We left the farm with happy hearts. As I came into Baraboo I pulled over to take photos of an awesome art store. It’s a blend of two businesses called Wild Apples and The Red Shed.
I had a great visit with the owners and they invited me to come on Sunday to get some painting done on “Christie’s Quilt.” I’m looking forward to spending some time with this fun group of artists.
We drove home and got Levi safe snd sound back in his pasture with his Buddy Shazar. Made it just before dark.
Sunset on the ranch.
Jesus loves you. Blessings to you and yours…. Jo Anne
